Part of the Bowmore 50-Year-Old Vaults series, the 52-year-old whiskey is the final bottling of the strictly limited range. Only 232 bottles of the noble whiskey were filled. The extraordinary drop was created in 1965 as one of the first distillates on the new steam-heated stills of the renowned Scottish distillery Bowmore, which has its headquarters on the island of Islay. He then stored 52 years in an Oloroso sherry cask in the legendary Vaults No. 1. The elegant single malt rarity is not only a real treasure for Bowmore fans, but also for whiskey collectors, where Bowmore’s skill and experience in whiskey distillation and aging are clearly expressed through the complex and refined aromas. The exclusive and strictly limited Bowmore 1965 was bottled at cask strength with an alcohol content of 42 percent and is delivered in an elegant 0.7 l decanter in a noble and handcrafted wooden box.

It is characterized by the careful and gentle distillation in the then new steam-powered stills and its aging for more than 5 decades in an Oloroso sherry cask in the famous No. 1 vault located below sea level. Bottled at cask strength at 42% ABV, the amber Bowmore is characterized by an intriguing scent of fruit and sweet beeswax, with hints of dark chocolate that give way to aromas of heather and spring flowers. On the palate, the Bowmore 1965 shows refined aromas of jasmine, dried fruit and apricots.
